After working on the Barca D’Amore (The Love Boat) for 18 months, this is our first full summer on the water. The amount of comments and questions we have gotten about her have been astounding. Never did I think this boat would garner so much attention EVERY SINGLE TIME WE TOOK IT OUT. We have met so many new friends and clients from just interacting with people out on the water. One set of awesome women we met last weekend said I ought to start a blog about our adventures. So I did!
Larry and I have been married for 27 years. We have 3 adult children, 26, 25 and 22, and 1 most amazing grand daughter! My husband is a 4th generation plumber and owns his own plumbing company here in Pensacola. Our oldest son, Martin, works as his lead plumber. I am a 5th grade teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary where I have worked for 16 years. We also own a non-profit called American Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. This organization is a amateur sanctioning body licensed by the state of Florida to run mixed martial arts events. We travel frequently to different cities in Florida to sanction these events.
We lead pretty busy lives but we always find time to spend on the Barca D’ Amore. Sometimes this means turning down other social obligations and making time just for us as husband and wife. I find having something fun to look forward to doing together helps us get through the stressful times during the week. One thing is for sure, you can’t have a bad time on the Love Boat. Once the breeze is blowing through your hair and you get a drink in your hand, all the stress goes away.
